Mark Burnette Wild Mustang Trainer June 22 –

Mark Burnette will host a 5 day intense
clinic for 4-H’ers. Mark took 13th in the
Midwest Mustang Challenge that aired on RFD TV
this past winter. He is from Williams Indiana
and lives and works on his farm training horses
and teaching kids horsemanship skills. Spend all
day bonding and learning to teach your horse the
way he taught Mustang Sally in the Mustang
Challenge. Mark turned a wild mustang into a
trusting, loving companion willing to lay down
her life for him. Mark’s humor and whit, as well
as, his lifetime of horsemanship experience
makes him a very entertaining clinician that you
won’t want to miss. $300 limited to 15 students.

Chris Bohenek “Core Balance” Horsemanship

On the Trail… taking horsemanship out of the
arena. Clinic will involve basic horsemanship 1,
dealing with importance of “Core Balance” and
how it applies on the trail while encountering
obstacles in a safe and easy
manner that is enjoyable for both horse and
rider. Chris Bohenek brings over 13 years of
working horseback experience in handling both
horses and cattle to his students. After having
worked for different ranches throughout Montana,
starting colts and taking care of cattle, Chris
and his wife Lynne relocated to the Bitterroot
Valley of Montana. There, Chris does clinics and
demonstrations locally as well as traveling
abroad, using his natural horsemanship and
Vaquero style integrated with his “Core
Balance”TM (trademark pending) exercises to help
both horse and rider. Chris also works with
neighboring cattle and is always building
quality Vaquero style ranch geldings and taking
in a select amount of outside horses for

Tools & Techniques For Developing Innate Gaits"

Brenda Imus is the world's most widely
recognized authority on the subject of gaited
riding horses, as well as a professional author,
inventor, breeder, trainer, and gaited horse
clinician. Her equestrian titles include From
the Ground Up: Horsemanship for the Adult
Rider,(named by Equus magazine as one of the top
five new equestrian titles in 1992), Heavenly
Gaits: The Complete Guide to Gaited Riding
Horses, and Gaits of Gold: Selecting, Fitting,

The art of influencing and directing your
horse to obtain his willing obedience in the

Gary currently works as a detective with the
Kentucky State Police, and has served in the
National Guard for 20 years teaching leadership
skills at the Kentucky Officers Candidate
Academy; as well as, serving in Desert Storm.
His passion, however, is training the gaited
horse, and teaching people to train their own
horses. Gary has shown walking horses
extensively over the years, winning several
championships. He is also the recipient of the
Phoenix Award given by the National Walking
Horse Association in recognition of sound
training practices, and rehabilitation of abused
walking horses. Gary has also authored a book
due out this fall. Gary is certified as a
Natural Horsemanship Clinician, and adapts that
training, as well as dressage exercises, to
enhance the gaits of the walking horse. Gary
believes that something can be learned from all
horse disciplines. Gary has recently been
selected to the 2008 Myler Ride Team, to
represent the gaited horse world. The Myler Ride
Team is made up of 12 of this country’s top
riders consisting of Olympic gold riders to top
Endurance riders. Each ride team member is
selected on a list of accomplishments, and the
high quality of the horse exhibited. Gary Lane
is one of the top gaited horse clinicians in
United States, teaching a better way of
communicating with the horse.
